Casting Call for the 2018 Women in Ag Calendar!

2017 is off to a great start, but we are already looking forward to 2018 and planning for our 5th Annual Saskatchewan Women in Ag (SK-WIA) calendar!

The group began to help connect women involved in the agriculture industry across Saskatchewan. The calendar started as a way to give back to our industry, through funding SK Agriculture in the Classroom, a U of S Agriculture Undergraduate Scholarship, as well as other initiatives.  If you would like to see more information on SK-WIA, please read more about us here: http://www.womeninag.ca/our-story

Over the last 4 years, we have distributed over 2000 calendars…and the momentum just keeps building!

We are excited to announce that the 2018 calendar theme is Generations of Women in Ag. We plan to use this theme to celebrate, highlight and showcase families of women who work and have built their lives around agriculture. This year we are trying to cover a larger geographical area, and we hope you will be able to make the trip with your family to join us!

Photo Shoot Schedule:

1) April 2 - SW Sask- Spots Full!

2) June 25 - NE Sask

  • Morning - Near Wishart
  • Afternoon - Near Humboldt

3) July 9 - NW Sask

If your family is interested in being involved in this year’s calendar, fill in the required fields and indicate which photo shoot location you are committing to.

When planning to attend, we request that you bring at least 2 generations per family, of course, the more the merrier! Generations don't necessarily need to be linear –  grandmas, aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces, sisters, babies, etc. are welcome if they are also part of the industry. Please discuss and designate a family surname and hometown to be listed under, as one name is preferable to be used for identification in the calendar (ie: The Smith Family, Melville SK). We are planning to pose several families of women in each picture so just note that your family will likely be paired with another family from your area.

Once your submission has been sent, the calendar organizer for your area will be in touch to schedule your photo location and time, please direct any questions to them:

Swift Current - Katie Macmillan
Melfort - Jimmi-Lee Nicklen
Humboldt - Ellen Grueter
Plenty - Janelle Swan
Biggar - Stacey Sagon

Please note that a photo/model release will be required by all participants. Your registration and attendance signifies your permission to utilize your image and/or likeness or words spoken or written about WIA in print and online in future promotions for perpetuity.  No limitations or restrictions apply.

We are also looking for local ag companies willing to financially sponsor this year’s project, if you would like to receive a sponsorship package for yourself or to pass on, please note this in your submission. Thanks!

Thank you! We hope that you can join us to celebrate Women in Ag!
